Changed Launch time from 8am AZ to 9am AZ(1600 UTC) due to longer distance to launch location. Note currently AZ is same time as Pacific time. Launch/tracking team to launch location at 8am AZ.

Subject: ANSR-45 Flight Announcement
Arizona Near Space Research (ANSR) is pleased to announce the flight of ANSR-45. This high altitude balloon flight will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. MST (1600 UTC) The primary launch site will be Freeman Rd. Exit on I-8, AZ (N32.84503 W112.31748) approx 8-9mi west of the SR84 entrance on I-8 south of Maricopa, AZ. Monitor Scaton Repeater Saturday morning for any launch site changes based on morning wind data.
Talk In Prior to launch / tracking when cross-band repeater not available on the Sacaton Peak,AZ repeater, 447.725 MHz/100.0 Hz PL tone.
The balloon will be a 1200-gram weather balloon, filled with helium. The expected burst altitude will be 90,000 feet or more. The flight is anticipated to last about 2.5 hours from launch to touchdown.
Payloads:
1) ANSR Flight Computer/Voice Cross-Band repeater/APRS
2) Digital Camera - Canon firmware mods
3) APRS beacon
The ANSR Cross-band repeater will again be activated on this flight. Stations, especially those distant from the balloon, are invited to use the repeater when the repeater is not in use by the chase and recovery team. Please give priority to the chase and recovery teams if asked.

Cross band digipeaters will GATE the APRS data to the 144.390 MHz standard APRS frequency and subsequently I-GATED to the Internet for out of area trackers. You can track the flight using either of the following links:

NOTE on IRLP reflector. When you connect, the node will report you are connected to the Western States Reflector 925 on channel 5. This channel has been reserved for high altitude balloon flights. Remember to key your transmitter for 2 seconds BEFORE you begin to talk. Also, when you join the node, please listen 10-15 seconds before transmitting. The cross band repeater is also used for our tracking and recovery team
